Metalsmith, Designer, Jewelry Lover!

Hi there, my name is Doubara, an award wining jewelry designer, metalsmith and all round jewelry lover! My jewelry making journey started over 18 years ago when I fell head over heels in love with jewelry the day my mum taught me how to string a pearl necklace one warm afternoon on her bedroom floor. From that sweet little moment grew a hobby which many years later led me to study the ancient art of traditional jewelry design and manufacturing. I then took this further by studying the modern process of 3D design and manufacturing at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandizing (FIDM) and the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

Over the years running my own jewelry brand, I have come across many people outside my geographic region who desire to learn metalsmithing but could not, even though there is still a lot of room for others within the industry. So I set out to create an online version of my in person jewelry making courses to empower more people especially women with skills that would not just serve as a hobby but can be monetized! How amazing is that!

I am a firm believer in starting small and growing big and the Metalsmithing 101 course is the perfect step into the amazingly creative and lucrative world of jewelry making.

It covers how to source for basic tools and materials needed as well as how to get started with using jewelers tools and making your own unique and beautiful jewelry.

  • Do I need ALL the tools just to get started?

    Not at all. You can purchase your needed tools as you progress through the course. If you need help shopping, contact me.

  • Do I need a professional studio to start learning?
